Established in 2012 by Bruce Gutlove, who studied viticulture and enology at UC Davis. After gaining experience at prestigious California wineries including Robert Mondavi, he worked as a consultant at Japan's Coco Farm Winery. Amazed by the high quality of Hokkaido grapes, he moved to Hokkaido in 2009. 10R Winery functions not only as a wine producer but also as a custom crush facility supporting other producers' winemaking. It significantly contributes to developing new wine producers and advancing Hokkaido's wine industry. Using 100% Hokkaido-grown grapes, they create delicate and complex wines that leverage the characteristics of the cool climate. As a custom crush facility, they provide essential services to emerging winemakers who lack their own facilities, making wine production accessible to more grape growers in the region.
